I’ve had this 2005 SSR since 2010. I’ve hardly drive the car over the past 15 years. It is a great car, excelent condition, both inside and out, hardly if any noticable scratches. The interior is like new opening the trunk even has the new car smell. However, this year I’ve decided to lighen my load and sell this SSR. Initially I was going to price the SSR at $22,000. I had my mechanic look the car over and was told the engine has a bad/failed main bearing. The cost to replace/rebuild the engine is approximately $10,000 to $12,000. The best engine replacement is a GM Factory rebuild that uses an original LS (corvette) engine block with all new internal parts. I have a source for the new engine. I decided that (1.) either I sell the car for $8,000 so to some one who wants to install the new engine. OR (2.) I proceed with the new engine and raise the price to $22,000. The car is currently at my mechanic’s shop awaiting my decision. This mechanic specalizes in custom cars and racing engines.. so he is quite knowlegeble in high performance engines.
