Having purchased more cars than I care to admit, including a few sight unseen over the internet, I understand the concerns a buyer faces when considering their next car online. That’s why I developed my own checklist to screen potential purchases. I have listed the details of my car on that checklist which is shown on the last photo. I will only buy a car if the owner has clearly demonstrated pride of ownership, the vehicle is accident-free, has been maintained on schedule, and shows the kind of care I would have given it myself. Each time I buy a car, I do so with the mindset that it will be my last car ever. So far, there have been at least five of those last cars, and every time I make that declaration, my wife and sons just roll their eyes. As proof of my long-term commitment to this one, I invested in an 8-year ceramic coating last May. If I hadn’t planned to keep it, I would have settled for a 1- or 3-year coating instead. My cars are always garaged, serviced at the recommended intervals, and kept impeccably clean inside and out. I hand wash them using the two bucket method, never allow food or animals inside, and treat the interior materials with the proper care products. When I’ve sold previous cars, dealership appraisers have made remarks such as: Cleanest used car I’ve ever seen. It still looks and smells new. This car looks like it only has 5,000 miles on it when in fact, it had 29,000. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a late-model Panamera, you will be hard-pressed to find one in better condition unless you buy it brand new.
